A terracotta relief that can also be read as a portrait of Demeter, the Greek goddess of the harvest. I chose a layered technique to emphasize a generous, expressive linear quality. The central motif is an ear of grain, which I deliberately seek to reinterpret—shifting the imagery of the harvest away from ideology and back toward something essential and timeless: humanity's reliance on the earth, the alternation of abundance and void, and the perpetual cycle of loss and return.
