This painting takes up the composition of the right panel of Hieronymus Bosch’s The Last Judgment, painted around 1448 and kept at the Groeningemuseum in Bruges. I tried to keep the structure of the painting, and I applied myself to replacing Bosch’s tormented souls with pretty boys. I erased the demon executioners. I wanted to create an ambivalent image where hell and paradise meet like a circular line.
