The exhibition Postmodernism Brazilianness was conceived for the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB) to celebrate the Modern Art Week of 1922’s centenary, through traces, remnants and achievements acquired in fine arts in the last hundred years. The exhibition includes the participation of 51 artists and presents several characteristics that guide current Brazilian contemporary art, whose existence is owed, in part, to the artistic legacy and boldness idealized by Modernism. Its protagonists proposed artistic freedom, rupture with the past and appreciation of national culture, supported by the aesthetic and cultural vanguard on its way into the future.
