Alma Allen

Called "an offspring of Brancusi and early-twentieth-century abstraction" by the Whitney Biennial, where his work was presented in 2014, Alma Allen creates sculptures painstakingly made in foraged wood, sculpted marble, and cast bronze, ranging in scale from minuscule to oversize.

This is the first comprehensive monograph devoted to Allen's work, guided by the locations in which Allen resided over the course of his adult life—New York, Los Angeles, Joshua Tree, Mexico City—with newly commissioned photography by Leslie Williamson and texts by curators Douglas Fogle and Glenn Adamson.
