KAÁGUY RUPIGUA in Guarani Kaiowá language is the expression for “wild animals”.
For many years Paulo has studied his indigenous traits and genealogy and for a long time he approached the Guarany Kaiowa Indians from Mato Grosso do Sul. This group of images refers to the moment when Nazareth started to learn the language of the Kaiowas. In contact with the children of the village he drew some animals they had contact in that part of the country and the children wrote the animals' names in their language and in this way they exchanged learning. This moment - so common in the artist's learning when in contact with different languages ​​- is a fundamental part of his practice that is sustained in the act of walking, crossing borders, sustaining his practice in contact with new cultures, new people.
