Shot with a high-speed digital camera, Projection (2012 - 2024) was produced without post-production effects. To create the work, a massive glass panel was positioned in front of a landscape on the outskirts of São Paulo. As the sun set, a steel sphere was hurled against the glass, creating a second star – a fleeting dialogue with the sun, a black hole beneath the daylight. The cascade of shattered glass is simultaneously beautiful and violent, echoing themes present in the artist’s work – a meditation on the manifestation of desire.

Here, nature reveals a cruel temperament. The environment, in its relentless cycle of life and death, is slowly consuming us.
