The exhibition Maria Auxiliadora - vida cotidiana, pintura e resistência – part of the thematic axis dedicated to Afro-Atlantic stories – rescues 82 works by the self-taught artist who painted scenes of daily life and Afro-Brazilian culture, all reproduced in the catalog that also brings several others rare works located during the research process – composing the most complete book about the artist ever released. The exhibition aims to renew interest in the artist's original production, expanding readings about her life and work beyond labels. The catalog brings twelve unpublished essays, three republications of historical texts and a biographical note.
