XXI, combines the work of artists who employ photography to construct possible paths of representation out of the complex relationships between reality and art. The artists featured – including Rosangela Rennó, Paulo Nazarethe and Claudia Andujar, to name but a few – utilize, each in their own way, the dialogues between photography, painting, performance and other artistic languages and, as such, transform and recreate registers and representations, producing new meanings for shared realities.
