Adriano Costa Lives and works in São Paulo , b. 1975 in São Paulo, Brazil

Adriano Costa explores consumption, recollection, fashion, horror, and the anxieties of society by juxtaposing a highly personal collection of objects with abstract and often realistic forms of sculpture. Working with a range of materials and mediums, including sculpture, assemblage, drawing, painting, and installation, Costa’s work presents itself as a sharp commentary on social class, popular culture, music history, and youthful rebellion. 

 
Throughout Costa’s work, there is a recurring theme of the reuse and reinterpretation of everyday objects and discarded materials. By showcasing both their raw and beautiful aspects, particularly in urban settings, he critiques the commercialization of art and challenges the perceived divide between ephemera and traditional art. Adriano Costa aims to elevate these seemingly mundane objects, placing them on the same level of significance as any conventional artwork.
